Adversity and tough situations can make any of us crumble. When our emotions get the best of us, it’s hard for us to think, act, and behave clearly. As I always ask my athletes, “Do your emotions control you or do you control your emotions?”
Understand that all athletes feel emotions, especially during adversity, even the best athletes you’ve ever come across. It’s not that these athletes have a ‘perfect’ mind or can eliminate all negativity, fears, and doubts. The most successful athletes and competitors I’ve ever worked with are better able to control their emotions during critical situations.

Here’s one of my favorite quotes:
“Average players get crushed by adversity. Good players survive adversity. Great players get better because of adversity… They see it as a test! When adversity hits, when distractions arise, how do you handle adversity? This will shape you into the player you do/don’t want to be."
CHALLENGE: Ask yourself how you can be better responding to adversity?
“OWN YOUR OUTCOME!”
